Memoir '44

We are pleased to share that Slitherine and Asmodee are partnering to develop and publish the official digital adaptation of Memoir ‘44, the acclaimed World War II board game designed by Richard Borg and published by Days of Wonder.

This project bridges Slitherine’s long-standing expertise in digital strategy gaming with Asmodee’s rich portfolio of tabletop intellectual properties. Inducted into the BoardGameGeek Hall of Fame in January 2026, Memoir ‘44 has built a community of over 250,000 players worldwide.

Developed by Volcanite Games and scheduled for a 2027 release, the digital version aims to deliver an authentic PC adaptation that preserves the core mechanics of the original tabletop game.

Players can expect the exact turn-based tactical strategy, hex-based movement, and iconic Command card system they love from the physical version.

We are excited to work alongside Christian Dunn and the Asmodee team to bring this classic title to PC gamers and wargame enthusiasts on Steam.

Nightmare Frontier - V1.0 is out now

The wait is officially over. Nightmare Frontier has officially left Early Access and entered Version 1.0.

To everyone who supported us during Early Access, reporting bugs, sharing feedback, and sticking with us through every patch. Thank you.

Your passion and insights shaped Nightmare Frontier into what it is today. We truly couldn't have built this game without such an incredible community behind us.

Major 1.0 Highlights & Changes

  • Overhauled Narrative: We have drastically rewritten the events of the story behind the game to deliver a much richer lore and world-building experience!

  • Item Transfer & Swap (Most Requested QoL): Effortlessly manage gear between characters in both Hideout and Raid modes.

    • Transfer: Overwrites the target’s loadout (replaced items move to Backpack/Stash; class-incompatible items stay put).

    • Swap: Swaps full loadouts between two characters while keeping incompatible items in place.

  • Overboard Mechanics: The Docks now feature open-sea access! Pushing any unit into the water results in instant defeat.

  • Docks District Art Overhaul: Brand-new custom buildings and floor art bring the Docks district to life.

  • Horror Status: Scavengers attacking Dreadweavers born of their fear gain the Horror status, raising Nightmare Pressure by 1 point each turn until they slay any Dreadweaver to overcome their fear.

  • Dreadweaver Susceptibilities: Certain Dreadweavers now take significantly increased damage from specific effects (Burning, Plague, Push) or damage types (Ranged). Check Unit Tooltips/Tutorials for details!

  • Multi-Level Upgrades: The Upgrade Popup now shows all available item levels, letting you upgrade items directly to any level you can afford—no more upgrading one tier at a time.

  • Clearer LoS & LoF Visuals:

    • Line of Sight: Hovering cells during movement highlights all visible units and targets in white.

    • Line of Fire: Target indicators now show clear LoF paths—if blocked, the line grays out and marks the obstructing object with a gray cross.

Save files

Before you dive in, please take a moment to read these details about save compatibility:

  • Save Wipe: We are performing a save wipe right now for the 1.0 release.

  • Old Early Access Saves: Pre-1.0 Early Access saves will not work on the new 1.0 version of the game.

  • Legacy Branch Available: If you want to finish up an old playthrough, don't worry! We are keeping the old Early Access build active as a legacy branch on Steam for a little while, so you can roll back anytime to finish your existing runs.

About the game:

Behold the first-ever Tactical Extraction Looter where you pit your courage and leadership against fears made manifest: the Dreadweavers. Lead a band of scavenger roughnecks into a devastated boom town of the alternative 1900s. Get in, face the monsters, grab what you can carry and get out. Alive.

Base game price

With the transition to Version 1.0, the price of the base game has been updated to $24.99. This price adjustment reflects the massive amount of new content, systems, and polish added throughout Early Access and into full release. We are deeply committed to delivering value for your support, and we thank you for helping us make Nightmare Frontier a complete, feature-packed experience.

What’s next

We’ve put together a post-launch roadmap to give you a sneak peek at what’s on the horizon for Nightmare Frontier:

Distant Worlds 2 - DLC Announcement & Command Update Release

During Slitherine Next showcase, we officially revealed Shadows Rising, the next major expansion for Distant Worlds 2, arriving on October 7, 2026. Alongside the DLC announcement, players can already download the brand-new free Command Update, bringing improvements and new features to the base game.

Set after the devastating Cataclysm, Shadows Rising introduces one of the biggest gameplay expansions ever created for Distant Worlds 2. The galaxy has been left fractured by war: ancient civilizations have fallen, hyperspace routes have become increasingly dangerous, and the Hive actively threatens the galaxy.

For the first time, players will be able to experience the galaxy from the perspective of the Pirates. Whether starting as a Lone Pirate with a single ship or leading an entire Pirate Faction, players will build criminal networks through smuggling, espionage, raids, contracts, and privateering, eventually choosing whether to become a feared Pirate Empire or a legendary outlaw.

The expansion also introduces the Age of Shadows, an entirely new starting era before the rise of the major empires, alongside Shadowports, pirate strongholds, an expanded contract system, new smuggling mechanics, and a wide range of new strategic opportunities.

In addition to the expansion reveal, today's presentation also marked the release of the latest free Command Update, delivering numerous improvements, quality-of-life features, gameplay refinements, and additional content for all Distant Worlds 2 players. Here the full changelog.

Want early access to the expansion? Sign up for the public beta today and help us test the new pirate experience before launch:

Distant Worlds 2: Shadows Rising launches on October 7, 2026. Wishlist it today and prepare to shape the future of the galaxy... from the Shadows.

Radio Commander: Pacific '41 - Slitherine Next July 22 - recap

During today's Slitherine Next showcase, we shared a brand-new look at Radio Commander: Pacific '41, the next standalone entry in the acclaimed Radio Commander series.

The new gameplay presentation offered a closer look at the unique command-focused experience that defines the franchise, now brought to the vast and unforgiving Pacific Theater of World War II. Once again, players will rely on radio communications, delayed reports, and incomplete battlefield information to make critical tactical decisions without directly controlling units on the battlefield.

The latest footage highlighted the game's operational scale, command mechanics, and the challenges of coordinating military operations across the Pacific while dealing with uncertainty, limited intelligence, and constantly evolving battlefield situations.

While today's showcase focused on gameplay, we also confirmed that Radio Commander: Pacific '41 is scheduled to launch this winter, with additional news and updates coming in the months ahead.

Stay tuned for more information join our official Discord as we approach release, and wishlist Radio Commander: Pacific '41 today.

Radio Commander: Battle of Britain '40 - Game Announced

Today's Slitherine Next showcase introduced Radio Commander: Battle of Britain '40, a brand-new real-time strategy experience that brings players inside the historic RAF Fighter Command operations rooms during one of World War II's most decisive air campaigns.

Unlike traditional strategy games, players never see the battlefield directly. Every decision is made through radar contacts, pilot reports, delayed communications, and the famous Dowding System, faithfully recreating the command structure that coordinated Britain's air defense during the Battle of Britain.

Players will manage every aspect of the RAF's air operations, including squadron deployments, aircraft readiness, fuel consumption, pilot fatigue, repairs, and morale, while adapting to changing weather conditions and an enemy AI capable of altering its tactics throughout the campaign.

Featuring a full historical campaign spanning from the opening Luftwaffe attacks to the Blitz, Radio Commander: Battle of Britain '40 combines historical authenticity with highly replayable systemic gameplay, ensuring that no two campaigns unfold in exactly the same way.

Radio Commander: Battle of Britain '40 is planned for release in 2027. Wishlist the game now and stay tuned for future updates on our official Discord.

Bolt Action - First Look at In-Development Gameplay Footage

Commanders!

Yesterday, during our Slitherine Next event, we unveiled new gameplay footage captured from an in-development build of Bolt Action, giving players their first look at several of the game's core systems in action.

Many of these mechanics have been covered in our dev diaries, but this is the first time we've showcased them through actual gameplay.
While the game is still in development, we wanted to give you an early look at what the team has been working on and share our progress with the community.

The visual elements are still a work in progress, so you may notice a few placeholder assets and known bugs throughout the footage. Right now, our focus is on refining the game's core systems and ensuring the gameplay feels solid, while visual effects and overall polish continue to evolve.

We hope you enjoyed this first sneak peek at Bolt Action. Your feedback is invaluable and will help us continue improving the game as development progresses.

Stay tuned for more insights coming soon, join the community on Discord and don’t forget to wishlist the game.

Panzer Corps 2: Elite - All American | Out Now

Panzer Corps 2: Elite - All American is out now for $4.99.

The All American campaign follows the legendary 82nd Airborne Division throughout World War II. You'll command one of America's most iconic airborne formations from its first combat operations to the final advance into Germany. The campaign begins with the invasion of Sicily and continues through Italy, Normandy and the liberation of Europe.

Unlike previous Elite campaigns centered on armored warfare, this campaign shifts the focus to close-quarters infantry combat. Airborne tactics, mobility and elite infantry rather than tanks. The result is a fresh gameplay experience while remaining true to the classic Panzer Corps formula.

Changelog v1.19.01

  • Added the new Elite: All American campaign

  • Fixed crash in Italy: vol. 1 campaign related to switching between GB and US cores with split units left on the map

  • Minor localization fixes in Italy: vol. 1 campaign
