Published on December 09, 2025

Slitherine Next has just wrapped up as the Grand Finale of our 25th Anniversary celebrations. Today’s event delivered a jam-packed program filled with news, updates, and surprises.

If you missed the live stream, you can rewatch it here, or read the full recap below.

Broken Arrow

The show opened with news about one of our best-sellers: Broken Arrow. We presented an updated roadmap that includes the first specialization DLC, Broken Arrow: Baltic Battalion, which brings to the game a brand-new army specialization accessible to the U.S. faction.

With cutting-edge European weaponry, sophisticated infantry formations, and next-generation vehicles built for layered defense, mobility, and quick reaction battle, this new specialization, which represents the combined forces of Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia, increases your tactical options.

The DLC will be completely free: so stay tuned for more details. And don’t forget that Broken Arrow is currently 15% off.

RuneQuest Warlords

RuneQuest: Warlords has officially launched today. The game features an 18-mission campaign following the story of Hahlgrim, a tribal champion of Talastar’s Bilings, as he gathers allies, including elves and even temporary Lunar companions, to push back the invading Chaos hordes from Dorastor.

Players can also dive into Multiplayer and Skirmish modes, choosing from three distinct factions: Talastar, Chaos, and the Lunar Empire, each offering unique strengths, strategies, and playstyles. Magic plays a central role through the ancient and powerful Runes, tied to the Glorantha pantheon of gods.

RuneQuest: Warlords is now available with a 10% launch discount for the first two weeks.

Battleplan

More news has been shared about the upcoming game Battleplan, a unique real-time strategy game that simulates massive month-long battles with hundreds of thousands of troops second by second, day by day. The player can give high-level orders, then watch his officers and companies carry them out autonomously. The game gives you the opportunity to create elaborate, multi-step and multi-unit plans intuitively by directly drawing on the map. It’s possible to employ varied tactics such as defence in depth, counterattacks, planned withdrawals and more.

The game will be part of Steam Next Fest from February 23rd till March 2nd, so you’ll have the chance to try it and play.

Stargate: Timekeepers

Big news for Stargate: Timekeepers: the game is finally coming to consoles. Fans who want to dive into this real-time tactics adventure based on the original Stargate series will soon be able to play it on PS5 or Xbox Series X/S.

Headquarters

Headquarters: World War II now has a new rebranded logo, marking the start of a new era for the game and highlighting the realism and tactical depth that define its core experience.

A new game in the series has also been announced: Headquarters: Cold War, set in a hypothetical 1984 conflict between NATO and the USSR. Players can take control of either side across two story-driven campaigns and a variety of skirmish missions. The game includes two full campaigns with 10 missions each, for a total of 20 operations, plus six skirmish maps designed for replayability and tactical variety.

Sign-ups for the Headquarters: Cold War beta are now open. Click here to join.

Warhammer 40,000: Gladius

We’ve officially released a new DLC for Warhammer 40,000: Gladius: the Rampage Pack. It adds 8 brand-new units to the battlefields of Gladius Prime, introducing a fresh offensive layer and unlocking new strategic options for commanders.

Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector

The updated roadmap for the game has been shared, revealing the upcoming Ultramarines DLC, a new narrative Campaign, a free major update and a new faction DLC.

Moreover, the Black Legion DLC has been announced.

A Lens On and more

Season Two of A Lens On: Snapshot has been announced. It will offer an editorial deep dive into the political and technological landscape of the Cold War, directly connecting with the game ICBM: Escalation. The series will explore key topics such as technological advances and nuclear diplomacy. Dr. Benedict Walsh will provide expert insights on critical issues, including the importance of diplomacy, moments of crisis and tension, and the development and deployment of weapons during this long, un-fought conflict.

Panzer Corps 2

A new DLC has been announced for Panzer Corps 2, Panzer Corps 2: Allied Operations - Italy Vol. 1. It will be part of a brand new trilogy, marking the return of a fully linked campaign system with army carryover as players lead the liberation of Italy from invasion to the mainland. You will be able to command both British and American forces across two parallel but converging campaign paths during Operation Husky, the largest amphibious landing in history at that time. You’ll also be the owner of making impactful decisions and will have the chance to experience historically inspired battles.

Starship Troopers: Terran Command

The roadmap for the franchise has been revealed, including an upcoming DLC: Starship Troopers: Terran Command – The Eradicators. This will be the first Battle Group DLC for the game, focusing entirely on the new Territory Mode content. Originating from the labs and research facilities on planet Ghutana, The Eradicators Battle Group introduces a set of unique R&D-based units and technologies. Exterminate the Arachnids with deadly chemical agents, crush them with powerful nuclear and radiation weapons, or use top-secret biological technology to unleash your own controlled Bug hordes.

The DLC is set to release in early 2026.

Scramble: Battle of Britain

A recap was made of what we’ve done so far for the game and revealed what we are currently still developing. Scramble: Battle of Britain v1.0 will be out in Spring 2026, together with the Channel Defense campaign. The Campaign won’t re-write history, but will focus on a personal corner of the wider conflict of WWII, telling the story of each player’s squadron. Players step into the role of a RAF leader. Every decision, victory, and loss helps shape the fate and spirit of their squadron day by day.

Stormbinders

We also took the opportunity to spotlight another upcoming title, Stormbinders.

The game pays homage to Heroes of Might and Magic III, preserving the classic turn-based strategy feel while introducing fresh, modern systems. It features all the beloved hallmarks of the genre, including hero-led armies, world exploration, hex-based tactical battles, fortified castles, and diverse fantasy factions.

Stormbinders also moves beyond nostalgia with innovative mechanics. Shifting weather patterns and magical storms can influence spell power and add new layers of strategy to each encounter.

Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance

We also shared news about Terminator: Dark Fate Defiance and its newly announced DLC, Evolution. The expansion adds a new single player campaign set in the frozen wilderness of Canada, where blizzards, low visibility, and harsh terrain shape mobility and tactical choices across nine missions. Evolution introduces the Rev 6.5, a fast melee unit designed to close distance instantly, along with a new melee combat system that allows select units to perform close quarters takedowns and disrupt enemy formations.

The release of Terminator: Dark Fate Defiance - Evolution is currently set for early 2026.

Radio Commander

We announced the acquisition of a new IP, Radio Commander, which includes two standalone titles: Radio Commander: Vietnam ‘64 and the upcoming Radio Commander: Pacific ‘41.

In Vietnam ‘64, players command troops entirely through radio communication, relying on voice reports to track the battlefield and lead US platoons against the Vietcong in a narrative-driven, decision-focused take on the RTS genre.

Radio Commander: Pacific ‘41, which is now in Early Access on Steam, will be released in Spring 2026 and will give the user the possibility to fight against the Japanese army during the tragic events of the Pacific War. He will have to analyze reports, make decisions, issue orders through radio messages and tip the scales of victory in his favor.

Bolt Action

We announced Bolt Action, an upcoming game that adapts the award-winning Warlord Games tabletop ruleset into a striking and demanding digital theatre of war, where a single calculated decision can determine victory or defeat. Rather than a one-to-one digital translation, the experience is being reimagined to immerse players in the Bolt Action universe in a fresh way, capturing the feel of commanding miniature troops without the need for physical models.

The game features distinctive unit designs inspired by tabletop miniatures, a fully 3D environment, an Army Painter for customizing squads, weapons and vehicles, and many additional features.

Nightmare Frontier

We also announced the acquisition of Nightmare Frontier, an original tactical extraction looter currently in Early Access and developed by Ice Code Games. The game blends deep tactical combat, atmospheric world-building, and challenging squad-based gameplay, making it a strong addition to Slitherine’s strategy portfolio.

Set in an alternative 1900s America twisted into a supernatural nightmare, players lead a scavenger crew against terrifying manifestations of fear known as Dreadweavers.

A new update released today adds the final boss storyline and combat. Nightmare Frontier is available now in Early Access on Steam.

The game is in Early Access on Steam.
