This is Foran Prime, a resource-rich Mining World which was once cut off from the Imperium by warp storms, now rediscovered and ripe for rapid colonization and relentless exploitation. Promethium-soaked waterways run through scoured landscapes as Imperial colonists labour to extract raw minerals and refine the valuable fuels. Their machinery is exposing more than mineral seams though, and dark secrets are emerging into the mists and swamps.

Driven to heresy by whispers from the Immaterium, the workers are starting to turn against their Imperial masters. Their actions are now threatening the Imperial Tithe which cannot be allowed to be delayed. Responding to emergency distress hymnals, a strike force from the legendary Ultramarines 2nd Company, led by Lieutenant Simus and Chaplain Macerno, reroutes to Foran Prime to quell the uprising.

The Ultramarines uncover something far more insidious than a simple worker rebellion. Cultists have unearthed an ancient Noctilith Crown, an ancient and powerful edifice of Chaos. 

Returning to reclaim the Crown is a Black Legion battlefleet, led by Chaos Lord Locrus Ashforged. Heeding the augury of his Sorcerer, Senok, Locrus has launched an invasion of Foran Prime, confident in the support of heretics on the planet.

Take command and lead the forces of the Ultramarines as they fight to stop the Black Legion invasion across fog-shrouded swamps, frontier work-camps and heavy industrial zones. Only with courage and honour can the Imperial forces avert catastrophe and purge Foran of the threat of Chaos..

Courage and Catastrophe is a 13-mission story campaign set on the war-torn world of Foran Prime. Lead a daring Ultramarine strike force behind enemy lines and push back against the Black Legion's invasion in a high-stakes, narrative-driven experience*.

This DLC also adds three new units to the Ultramarine roster**:

•  Lieutenant – Equipped with Storm Shield, Power Sword and Neo-Volkite Pistol, these officers optimize squad lethality and provide combat leadership on the front line.
• Chaplain – Warrior-priests who bolster unit morale with inspiring litanies, lead frontline assaults, and crush the enemies of the Imperium with their Crozius Arcanum.
• Reivers – Shock troops specialized in infiltration, psychological warfare, and disrupting enemy lines.   

*Note, Courage & Catastrophe is a stand-alone campaign, no other DLC purchase is required to play this campaign.
