Do your part, join the Mobile Infantry, and experience a new 9-mission story campaign on the tropical planet of Vega-V!

Vega-V’s abundant resources make it a prime target for colonization. Decades ago, settlers arrived with idealistic dreams of coexisting with the land, oblivious to the Arachnid menace lurking in the foliage. It took a catastrophic massacre to shatter their illusions and prove that claiming this world for humanity requires the United Citizen Federation’s full military might.

Driven by corporate lobbyists and expansionist motives, the Federation is intensively pushing the colonization of planet Vega-V. FEDNET reporter Anna-Sophia Blanchet is en route to the planet to promote its appeal to new colonists - and to further her own career.

On the surface, native-born Lt. Colonel Canul fights to defend the expanding “Green Zone”. Hampered by persistent equipment and manpower shortages, she must constantly scramble to hold back the relentless Arachnid threat.

The campaign on Vega-V will take you to diverse locations, from vital frontier outposts and rapidly expanding colonies to the exotic Wildlife Wonders park. Hack and shoot your way through thick jungle and treacherous swamplands before finally descending into the depths of the fallen colony’s underground shelter.

Early in the campaign, with high-tech weaponry in short supply, standard frontline grunts will carry the heaviest load. But your force will eventually evolve and expand as you gain access to advanced infantry types.

Four new infantry types are available, each highly specialized to operate in Vega-V’s unique environment. A few examples include:

  • Rangers
Equipped with dependable Morita carbines, these versatile troopers form the backbone of your battle group. They are capable of deploying various support weapons, constructing improvised gun pits and calling down artillery fire support.
  • Air Support Operator
These operators are vital for keeping infantry squads at full strength and authorizing powerful air support, such as Skyhammer gunships, napalm bombardment, and air-dropped auto-turrets.
  • Powered Suit Sniper
This elite trooper carries the Morita ‘Triple X’ sniper rifle, a weapon designed to obliterate armored targets at long range. The advanced powered suit provides extreme levels of mobility and flexibility to navigate the terrain.

When infantry alone proves insufficient, six new vehicles are at your disposal. Ranging from armored killing machines to mechanized support vehicles, these include the following:

  • SawMaster 35T
Designed as a civilian tool built for clearing timber with a massive circular saw, this machine has been repurposed for combat, slicing effectively through medium armor and Arachnid carapaces alike.
  • M9D-T Minotaur
The Minotaur is a dual-barreled artillery platform mounted on a heavy bipedal vehicle. Its open-topped design is a weight-saving measure, but it has forced the crew into creative ways to defend themselves in close-range combat.
  • M23C-T Fortis Assault Carrier
This quadruped personnel carrier comes with an escort of troopers equipped with Fortis armor suits and Mk.II assault rifles. The vehicle can also deploy itself anywhere on the battlefield to release or reinforce other infantry squad types.
  • Mk.II Marauder
The Mk.II Marauder is a highly advanced light combat vehicle. It features high mobility and speed, while supporting an array of weapons systems. Besides its dual rotary cannons, the machine can be upgraded to mount rocket pods or chainsaws.

Surviving the jungle demands heavy firepower and constant vigilance. Beyond the hostile flora and fauna, lethal new Arachnid variants are lurking in the jungle foliage.

  • Delver
Upon spotting a target, the Delver burrows and advances underground, resurfacing to engage in close combat. Kill it before it digs in, or brace for a face-to-face encounter!
  • Scarab
The Scarab may appear small and sluggish, but is well armored for its size and features powerful mandibles. Engage with sufficient armor-piercing weaponry to minimize the loss of limbs.
  • Venator
The Venator is a lethal predator that can leap great distances to catch its prey. Upon landing, the massive impact dazes nearby enemies; and once in close range, the creature sprays a corrosive, adhesive sludge that eats through armor and flesh with equal indifference.
  • King Tanker
This behemoth is essentially a super-sized Tanker Bug. Its thick armor shrugs off all but the heaviest firepower, while its corrosive acid can melt through anything. Only a sustained barrage of the most powerful ordnance can reliably bring down this beast.

Beyond the story campaign, the Tropical Terror DLC includes several new Territory Mode maps, as well as exclusive technologies and new cosmetics to unlock for the Cobra Company battlegroup.

As with any other Territory Mode Battle Group, you can unlock new cosmetics and play missions on planets from any other DLC you own (as well as the base game’s planet, Kwalasha). Additionally, you can now play Territory Mode missions on the new tropical planet,Vega-V with all your other Battle Groups.
